Dr. Scott Thompson is a doctor of occupational therapy specializing in geriatrics and neurological rehabilitation with advanced LSVT-BIG and Saebo certifications. He currently is the Director of Clinical Services for Saebo, Inc., which includes product and business development, CEU development, research, marketing, sales, and online instructional videos. He also works as a per diem therapist to remain connected to clients, colleagues, and treatment.
Dr. Scott Thompson has experience in a variety of settings and positions, including travel therapy, lead OT, rehab manager, and multi-site director for different companies. In 2007, Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Indiana University. In 2011, Scott received his Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. He then received his post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from Rocky Mountain University in 2018, with an elective track focused in Administration and Business Management.
Having worked in six different U.S. states, Scott firmly believes in the advocacy of the occupational therapy profession and its clients and remains a member of the South Carolina Occupational Therapy Association (SCOTA), the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the World Federation of Occupational Therapy (WFOT). To promote advocacy and knowledge of the occupational therapy profession, he continues to write personal and research-based articles for multiple publications. As the Director of Clinical Services for Saebo, Inc., Scott develops and disseminates evidence-based research and knowledge via website content, blogs, flyers, and live and recorded webinars (and soon will produce How-To videos and clinical/marketing video content). To promote the advancement and benefits of occupational therapy within South Carolina, Scott resides as an Advisory Board member for a local OTA program and acts as a liaison for OT and OTA students before and post-graduation. He currently sits as the Low Country District Chair for the SCOTA Executive Board and received an officer nomination to become the Secretary of SCOTA in 2020 on 10/10/19.
