• Following a neurological injury, it is common for clients to experience impaired foot or arm function resulting in decreased sensation and/or strength.
• If the affected limb has limited use, this may lead to impaired communication to the brain, which includes sense of touch, feel, or awareness of movement.
• Unfortunately, most clients do not receive enough training or stimulation to the affected side which is needed to maximize recovery. For this reason, the SaeboStim Spa is the perfect solution to add to the recovery toolbox.
• Keep in mind that low-level sensory stimulation does not produce a muscle contraction, yet still provides stimulation to the foot or hand, which increases the signals sent to the brain. These signals excite the brain and help to improve recovery.

• The device works by submerging the involved foot or hand, along with the associated rubber electrodes, into the water for a 30-minute stimulation session.
• The SaeboStim Spa provides circumferential “under water” nerve stimulation that is consistent, comfortable and evenly distributed throughout the affected area. This form of stimulation surrounds the targeted tissue with a soothing and uniform level of current that treats the underlying conditions.

• The SaeboStim Spa consists of 3 components.
  • The first component is the foot or hand bath which consists of 2 equal size bays. Water is filled to cover the entire foot or hand prior to treatment.
  • The second component is the stimulator, complete with an LCD touch screen controls. The stimulator controls the intensity of the stimulation that is sent to the foot or hand via the lead wires.
  • The last component is the black and red rubber lead wires that travels from the stimulator and submerges into the water of each bay. • Often, a client experiencing foot drop will try to compensate by hiking their hip or bending their knee more to clear their foot without dragging. This can lead to further problems in the back due to the abnormal compensation movements.
• TheSaeboStep consists of a lightweight and comfortable foot drop brace that provides optimum foot clearance and support during walking.
• TheSaeboStep was designed to replace uncomfortable, stiff, or bulky splints that go inside the shoe, as well as poorly manufactured braces designed for outside of the shoe that lack support and durability.
• The SaeboStep is a foot drop brace that has four components to help fully lift the foot when walking.
• Strapping System – Ankle cuff dial and magnetic fastener system easily secure device to ankle one-handed.
• “Lift” Dial – The dial allows the client to quickly and easily customize the lift angle required for lifting the foot for safe clearance, or release the tension as needed with a simple turn of the dial.
• Front Cord – The front cord is a thin and durable cord that attaches to the eyelets on the shoe to lift the foot quickly and easily.
• Eyelet Hooks – Small, attachments that are secured on the shoe to secure the front cord.

• The SaeboStim Spa is easy to apply and use following the simple steps outlined in the manual.
• The client will be in full control of the settings. Once the device is turned on, as he or she will feel a mild tingling sensation as the intensity increases.
• The purpose of this device is not to produce movement in your foot or hand. The purpose is to provide very low-level stimulation which will travel deep into your tissues and up to your brain.
• This form of “non-movement” stimulation will assist in healing and improve areas such as spasticity, pain, skin temperature, just to name a few.
• SaeboStim Spa covers the entire foot or hand for full stimulation.
• Like all medical treatments, the amount of recovery cannot be guaranteed; however, clients that are motivated and compliant with the daily home program tend to have better outcomes.

• Once the client dons the SaeboStep and adjusts the tension to meet their specific needs, they will be able to immediately lift the front of their foot to avoid dragging the toes when walking.
• The SaeboStep can be worn comfortably with the majority of male or female shoe styles. Saebo offers an accessory kit which allows the eyelets to attach to shoes that don’t have laces.
• With the foot being lifted, the client will experience added support needed to improve walking ability and increase overall safety, as well as less fatigue and compensation.
• You do not need a therapist to order the SaeboStep.

• Clients that may not be appropriate for the SaeboStim Spa typically exhibit one or more of the below:
  • Severe joint deformities in the foot or hand
  • Patients with cardiac arrhythmias or disturbances
  • Avoid use on areas of skin with recent scar tissue
  • Swollen, infected, or inflamed areas
  • Open wounds
  • Unable to follow basic commands

• Clients that may not be appropriate for the SaeboStep typically exhibit one or more of the below:
  • Severe joint deformities in the foot or ankle.
  • Moderate tightness or greater in the foot and ankle.
  • Moderate spasticity or greater in the foot and ankle.
  • Moderate or severe swelling in the foot and ankle.
  • Open wounds.
  • Limited hand function with no caregiver support; therefore, applying the device may be challenging.
