#1 DOCTOR RECOMMENDED
  • A Name You Can Trust – More doctors and hospitals recommend Saebo products for stroke rehabilitation than any other brand.
  • Backed by Research – To maximize recovery following a stroke (or other neurological injury), doctors understand the critical importance of “grasp and release” hand exercises. As the saying goes: “Use it or loose it”.  Using your hand throughout the day and during high-repetition therapy sessions builds new connections in the brain (cortical plasticity) and offsets the negative impacts of neglect (atrophy and spasticty) which can lead to a painful and useless “claw-fist.”Read about exciting new research featuring the SaeboGlove here
  • Patient-Based Design – Our products are developed by doctors and clinicians incorporating years of “hands-on” experience with patients just like you. Here are some of “patient-based” features you’ll find on our unique and patented SaeboGlove design:
  • Free Consultation & Support – The help you need is just a phone call away. Our team is always available to answer questions and offer expert advice.  We’re here for you every step of your recovery journey.

Introducing the SaeboStep

The SaeboStep consists of a lightweight, uniquely designed foot drop brace that provides convenience and comfort while offering optimum foot clearance and support during walking.

Design

  • The SaeboStep foot drop brace is a lightweight, uniquely designed foot drop brace/soft AFO brace designed to replace uncomfortable, stiff, or bulky splints that go inside the shoe.
  • Can be worn with the majority of men’s or women’s shoe styles by ordering the accessory kit to enable footwear without eyelets to be modified (even on sandals!).
  • Fully adjustable and designed to provide a comfortable yet secure fit – comfortably fits any ankle circumference between 6.5 inches and 11 inches.
  • Made with Spectra Cords crafted from a very high molecular density form of polyethylene, making it the most long-lasting option for this foot drop ankle brace. With standard use, the cords can be expected to last up to a year (replacement cords available to order).
  • Revolutionary dial located on the ankle strap allows for quick and easy adjustment of the tension and foot lift angle required for safe clearance.

FAQs

How is the SaeboStep better than an AFO or foot drop brace I can purchase on Amazon?

Many recovery products available on Amazon are inexpensive, but lack several key qualities that make them unreliable. For example, they cannot be applied one-handed, they inadequately lift the toes to promote walking with foot drop, they’re not sturdy enough to support the foot/ankle, and they wear out quickly. Many ankle and leg braces for foot drop are more like splints, are bulky and cannot be easily worn under pants. The SaeboStep offers all of the benefits that are typically lacking in these ineffective budget products, while remaining durable enough for daily use.

Does the SaeboStep come with Eyelet Hook Kit?

The SaeboStep comes with two pairs of eyelet hooks. We recommend ordering additional eyelet hook kits with your SaeboStep so you always have a back-up.

Does the SaeboStep work with any type of shoe?

The SaeboStep is unique in that it can be worn with nearly all shoe styles and still help patients manage their foot drop. Whether it’s sneakers, hiking boots, dress shoes or sandals (yes, even sandals!) the outside shoe design makes it a comfortable brace for any shoe. To wear the SaeboStep with shoes without eyelets, order the crop-a-dile along with the eyelet accessory kit to pair the device with your favorite shoe!

Is this the best foot drop brace for running?

Running with foot drop depends on the severity of your symptoms and the number of hours you dedicate to rehab each week. However, we have seen many SaeboStep users run with foot drop while wearing the device. Traditional AFOs are often rigid and restrictive, making it hard to run while wearing. The SaeboStep is a soft, non bulky option that you can run with when you are at that phase of your recovery.

Is the SaeboStep AFO foot brace right for me?

It’s for those who have had injuries resulting in:

  • Limited lower extremity movement and function making it difficulty to raise their foot.
  • Ankle and/or foot weakness.
  • Decreased sensation in the foot resulting in decreased coordination.
  • Tripping as a result of their foot dragging on the floor.
What conditions can be helped by using the SaeboStep?
  • Stroke
  • Neurological disorders
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Spinal cord injuries (SCI)
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Cerebral palsy (CP)
  • Injuries to the foot, leg or ankle
  • Nerve Injury
  • ALS

No Laces. No Problem.

SaeboStep can even be worn comfortably with the majority of men's or women's shoe styles. Simply order the accessory kit to modify any shoes without eyelets.

Indications

The SaeboStep AFO foot drop brace is designed for individuals who have had injuries that result in:

  • Limited lower extremity movement and function leading to difficulty raising the foot.
  • Ankle/foot weakness.
  • Decreased foot sensation leading to decreased coordination.

Contraindications

The SaeboStep AFO brace is not recommended for individuals who typically exhibit one or more of the following:

  • Severe joint deformities in the foot or ankle.
  • Moderate tightness or greater in the foot and ankle.
  • Moderate spasticity or greater in the foot and ankle.
  • Moderate or severe swelling in the foot and ankle.
  • Open wounds.
  • Limited hand function and no caregiver support, making device application challenging.

Foot Drop. What is it and how does it affect your recovery?

Foot drop, also known as dropped foot or drop foot, is the inability to raise the front part of the foot due to weakness or paralysis of the muscles that lift the foot (National Institute of Neurological Disorders). Consequentially, people who have foot drop scuff their toes along the ground and may also bend their knees to lift their foot higher than usual to avoid the scuffing, causing a "steppage" gait.
